RightsNow Pakistan Needs Volunteers for Monitoring & Documentation of Human Rights

RightsNow Pakistan believes respect for human rights, tolerance, nonviolence, pluralism, respect for dissent and human rights

RightsNow Pakistan’s volunteer programme promotes volunteerism to support peace, justice and human rights across Pakistan. We believe that volunteerism is a powerful means of engaging people in tackling development and human rights challenges by contributing their knowledge and skills. With their support, we can improve the human rights and human security situation in the country. This program benefits the organization, individuals, and the society at large.


RightsNow Pakistan needs Volunteers in Badin, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Tando Mohummad Khan and other rain ruined or conflict ridden districts of Sindh province for reporting human rights in conflict and disasters.

Besides, RightsNow Pakistan also needs volunteers for its hyderabad and Karachi office for following support. 

  • Support the organization in the development of its systems, database, conduct trainings, seminars, lectures, dialogues on peace, justice, human rights issues and document them.
  • Commit 5-7 hours per day for minimum of three months period
  • May assist the organization in either one or multi-tasking
  • Start research on any of the following human rights issue
  • Researchers can also work at academic institutions (universities & colleages) and report on weekly basis

RightsNow Pakistan will support and encourage volunteers to research on following human rights themes/issues and help them publish their research.

  • Child Labor and abuse  
  • Gender Violence
  • Reasons for increasing violence and extremism in Pakistan
  • Disappearances  Torture Prevention
  • Protection of Religious and sexual minorities
  • Prisoner’ Rights
  • Rights To Self-Determination
  • International Criminal Court and its Future


  • Bachelors or Masters in Social Sciences, International Relations, Law or Human Rights
  • Knowledgeable and skillful in computeracy
  • Ability to successfully integrate into the organization, its team, and its work
  • Sensitivity to the local culture and religion and compliance with principles, values and policies of the organization
  • Strong interest and commitment in human rights
  •  Ability to communicate in Urdu, Sindhi and English will be highly appreciable. However, fluency in anyone or two languages is also acceptable.

Note: It should be noted that volunteers’ positions are unpaid and there is not any monetary benefit attached with them. However, RightsNow Pakistan will provide volunteers with opportunities for training, research both at national and international level and will prefer its volunteers in case any employment opportunity comes in RightsNow Pakistan.

    Thanks for giving me this opportunity to write to you. I have experience of more than 20 years in English and Sindhi journalism. I worked on desk as well in reporting field. I am now at Badin and district reporter of Sindhi daily Barsat as well writing for Lahore Times Lahore and The Messenger Karachi later both English dailies. I have worked as coordinator of Peace and Human Rights Trust with task of liberation of bonded labour from private jails of landlords. Women’s rights and bonded peasants has been my subject.
