Posted: April 29, 2011 in News and Views

In response to the dramatic changes taking place in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, PILnet is opening the possibility for candidates from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia to join the 2011-2012 class of PILnet International Fellows.

International Fellows from the MENA region would join other public interest lawyers from around the world for a 10-month program. The program begins in August 2011 with a semester of study at Columbia Law School and additional public interest advocacy training. In the spring, International Fellows will participate in a three-month period of internships at New York-based public interest law organizations and a two-month study visit to Europe based out of PILnet’s Budapest office. International Fellows return to their home countries after the fellowship, with the aim of implementing the project developed during the fellowship.
