 CYPRUS: BRIDGING THE DIVIDE: Applied Leadership & Peacebuilding Advanced Certificate Program (ACP)- April 8 – 10 2011

** A Free Programme on Peacebuilding, Conflict Transformation and Negotiations for young leaders from both communities on Cyprus, Greece and Turkey **

Focus Themes: Peacebuilding in Cyprus, EU Foreign policy, Conflict Resolution and Advanced Negotiation Skills

CYPRUS: BRIDGING THE DIVIDE will provide a forum for active, engaged practitioners, analysts and young decision-makers to review past peacebuilding efforts – identifying strengths and gaps – analyze and assess the current situation, and identify practical measures and ways forward. The programme will provide a dynamic and rigorous forum for dialogue and engagement, and will draw upon experiences in peacebuilding, negotiations and community and political processes in resolution in Cyprus and internationally. The three days will be facilitated by one of the world’s leading experts and practitioners in peacebuilding, mediation, and facilitation of peace processes and will include guest speakers on EU policies and a dialogue forum with practitioners from both communities.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?
CYPRUS: BRIDGING THE DIVIDE is designed for highly committed and dedicated individuals who are actively involved in peacebuilding, community work, politics, and social and cultural engagement addressing the conflict and its impacts in Cyprus. It is intended for 10 participants each from the Turkish and Greek Cypriot communities (20 in total) and 5 participants each from Greece and Turkey (10 in total). Participants should be between 20 – 39 years of age and be actively involved in any of the following sectors: 

  •     Civil Society and Peacebuilding Organisations
  •     Government Departments & Ministries
  •     Political Parties
  •     Media
  •     Business
  •     Professional Associations
  •    National or International Organizations and Agencies (UN, EU, etc.)
