It is 100th ceremony of women international day. No doubt this hard struggling movement led millions of women throughout the world toward achieving their best born rewards and made them realized their importance to maintain their existence at every level. However there are many questions still remained which needs to be answered by all of us. Since the day when first International women day was celebrated on 19th March, 1911 if we look behind by the window of terrible past how blood sucking and rigid male dominant society put their signs of cruelty and tried to stop the demonstrations of seething and trembling sea of women throughout the world.

Despite the fact that women with their hardships, sincerity and determination proved to be the most important part of the developed society it needs to be reviewed that the prestige of women still not on the peak of its level. Although, during International Women’s Year in 1975, IWD was given official recognition by the United Nations and was taken up by many governments who had not previously known of its existence and almost every part of the world nowadays celebrating the day with full zeal, enthusiasm  and charm. Is it enough to organize the events, rallies, walks, theatre, debate discussions, musical programs and arranging the pictorial galleries in the remembrances of pioneers of the movements? , does this all really help to recognize the hardwork, existence, importance and active role of women for developing the most deprived countries of the world?

A woman who works for the whole year to look after her children, family, elders and most probably face all the social, economical, political problems and always kept back in all decisions cannot be recognized only in one day celebration.  She must be kept by side men throughout the year’s celebrations and give her a chance to utilize her full potential during 365 days constitutionally, socially, politically, economically, and ethically. In many parts of the world women are still living their lives in a very terrible, cruel, injustice and rigid male dominant society where they do not have any basic right and facility of health, education, vote not even enough food to maintain their diet during the pregnancy. Beside this, they also been tortured to do work in agri-fields, fetch water from a distance of 3-4 kilometers without having enough cloths on their bodies, shoes in their feet and bread in their mouth.

On behalf of these oppressed, victimized, vulnerable and deprived women we all, women activists, journalists, political leaders, policy makers, intellectual should raise the collective voice to provide the women a space to play their due role for the socio-economic development. We should take this day not only as a celebration but also make the women of past proud, the women of the present inspired and the women of the future envisioned.
